Dear Momence Community,

As the winter season unfolds and we gather for warmth and celebration, I’m proud to introduce the latest issue of The One, a reflection of the spirit, resilience, and potential that define our schools and our community.

This edition is filled with stories that highlight the unique journeys and accomplishments of our students, staff, and families. You’ll meet remarkable individuals like Payton Franc, a sixth grader whose dedication to both academics and athletics has earned him accolades at the national level. You’ll read about Leoni Cork, a sophomore balancing her entrepreneurial ambitions with dreams of becoming a pediatrician. And you’ll be inspired by the unwavering determination of students like Lemarion Lillard, whose strides in communication and confidence remind us of the transformative power of education.

Our district is also fortunate to have educators like Dusti Schumann and Jamie Smant, whose commitment to fostering growth and resilience in their students creates an environment where everyone can thrive. These stories are just a glimpse into the incredible work happening every day in our classrooms, hallways, and athletic fields.

I am so proud of how our schools serve as a bridge for our diverse community, with every child finding a place to grow and succeed. This effort is strengthened by the collaboration between our families, teachers, and local organizations, who work tirelessly to provide resources and opportunities for our students.
