Khloe Link is Living Small Town Dreams with a Big Team Spirit
"I’ve been playing softball for three or four years. I’m on the travel team, ‘Ice,’ and I can catch fly balls like it’s nothing!"

Khloe Link, a spirited fifth grader at Momence Elementary School, lives life with a mix of determination, joy, and a touch of humor. From her homeroom with Mrs. Mann to the outfield on her travel softball team, Khloe’s days are full of learning, friendship, and sportsmanship.
Khloe’s love for school is rooted in the kindness and encouragement she receives from her teachers. “Mrs. Mann is amazing,” she says. “She helps me with hard stuff and never makes me feel bad when I get stuck. She’s really nice, and she explains things in a way I can understand.”
For Khloe, math is a challenge, but she’s making steady progress in understanding decimals. “We do a lot of subtraction and addition with decimals,” she explains. “It’s tough, but I’m getting better. And I know math is important because it makes you smart for college!”
Beyond academics, Khloe thrives in the camaraderie of her cheer, softball, and volleyball teams. Her passion for softball, in particular, stands out. As an outfielder for the travel team Ice, Khloe takes pride in catching fly balls and helping her team succeed. “I love being out in the field,” she says with a grin. “It’s where all the action is, and I get to show off my strong arm.”
Khloe’s competitive spirit is matched by her cheerful resilience. Though her cheerleading squad recently placed second in both a competition and the season’s Super Bowl, Khloe remains upbeat. “Second place is still great,” she says. “I just don’t want to be third because that feels like last. Second means we’re still awesome!”
Family is a cornerstone of Khloe’s life. Her mom plays an essential role in keeping her organized and prepared for sports, from styling her hair to making sure her helmet fits just right. “One time, my mom did my hair in these two buns, but my helmet wouldn’t fit,” Khloe recalls with a laugh. “My dad had to fix it so I could play.”
Her dad, a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to sports, is her go-to practice partner. “He knows every sport,” Khloe says proudly. “We practice outside all the time, and he helps me get better at catching and hitting.”
At school, Khloe cherishes the time spent with her three best friends—Cataleya, Elena, and Harper. Whether they’re meeting in the gym before class or sharing laughs at lunch, their bond is an important part of her day. “Friends make everything better,” Khloe says.
Looking ahead, Khloe dreams of continuing her athletic journey and one day becoming a second-grade teacher. “Second grade looks easy,” she explains with a giggle. “Last year, I saw them walking in the halls, being quiet and doing their work. I thought, ‘Why not teach second grade?’”
As she prepares for what lies ahead, Khloe’s optimism and determination shine brightly. For her, the key to success is simple: work hard, stay positive, and always find joy in what you do.
For Momence Elementary School, Khloe Link is a reminder of the vibrant energy and boundless potential that make every day worth celebrating
