“Honestly, I couldn’t imagine going to a different high school. I just love the community here… It’s really like no other.”

“Anything a student at the main campus can do, you can do here—so long as you’re meeting expectations.”

“There’s a lot of stuff that happens people don’t think about. We try to think ahead, to be ready before something is needed.”

“Even when it’s hard, you just keep your head up and move forward. That’s how you win—on the court and in life.”

“Sometimes even the simplest act—like putting on a Band-Aid—means more to a student than we realize. For some, it’s the only care they feel they get.”

“You drive by the water tower each day on your way to work and you see the Orphan man right there, front and center, and you know you’ve got some responsibility.”

“If you’re having a bad day, all you have to do is spend time with a person who has Down syndrome—and your day isn’t bad anymore.”

“Whatever you’re interested in, I can probably find something for you to do in theater. There’s truly something for everyone.”

“It really does seem like… here it feels like the teachers are more like giving their hand to help you. That’s pretty special.”

“Some of them come in really motivated, and you can tell that’s where they’re headed after school. Others just want to learn something new—and that’s valuable too.”

“I think it is mainly the people. Everybody around here looks out for each other, and you can tell the community really cares about the kids.”

“If you keep pushing, then you’re pushing yourself to succeed more.”
