Dear Macomb School District Community,
As we embrace the winter season, I am filled with gratitude for the vibrant spirit that defines Macomb Schools. This issue of Flight Path is a reflection of the remarkable individuals—students, staff, and families—who contribute to our shared story of excellence, resilience, and connection.
In these pages, you’ll find inspiring examples of the creativity and determination that make our schools so special. From the innovative robotics program at Lincoln Elementary, where second graders are mastering teamwork and coding, to the remarkable journey of Nick Trotter, a seventh grader whose resilience on the wrestling mat and football field embodies the power of perseverance, these stories shine a light on the best of our school community.
You’ll also meet educators like Toni Baxter and Natalie Goc, whose dedication to fostering curiosity and kindness in our youngest learners is nothing short of transformative. And we are proud to highlight programs like Unified PE at the junior high, where inclusion and collaboration are creating lifelong friendships and teaching us all the value of empathy.
These stories remind us of the extraordinary commitment of our staff, the enthusiasm of our students, and the unwavering support of our families and community members. Together, we are shaping a future where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
As we look ahead, I want to express my appreciation for the partnerships that strengthen our district. Whether it’s a parent cheering from the sidelines, a local business supporting a classroom initiative, or a volunteer dedicating time to our schools, your contributions make a difference.
Thank you for joining us in celebrating the achievements and aspirations of our Macomb family. May this winter issue bring warmth to your hearts and a renewed sense of pride in all we are accomplishing together.
With gratitude,
Dr. Patrick Twomey
Superintendent
Macomb School District
