A Letter From the
Superintendent - Winter '24

Dear Ottawa ESD 141 Community,

As we embrace the winter season, I am delighted to present you with the latest issue of Visions141. As you know by now this magazine is a celebration of our vibrant school community, where every story reflects the dedication, creativity, and spirit that make our district and school community truly exceptional.

In this Winter edition, we delve into a range of compelling narratives that capture the essence of our shared experiences and aspirations. We're excited to feature a special piece on Lunch Buddies, a wonderful mentorship program through the Rotary Club. These relationships exemplify the powerful impact of community involvement in education and we celebrate it every day.

We also have the honor of sharing insights from the Mayor of Ottawa, Mr. Robert Hasty, highlighting the collaborative efforts between our schools and the city to enhance educational opportunities for our students. This partnership is a testament to the strong bonds and shared goals that unite us.

Another highlight of this issue is the peer-to-peer program at Shepherd. This inspiring program fosters a mutual support opportunity among students, creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that benefits everyone involved.

Moreover, we bring you several wonderful stories of members of our education team and several of our remarkable students. Each narrative showcases their unique talents, achievements, and journeys, reminding us of the incredible potential and diversity within our school community. These stories are not just individual triumphs; they are a reflection of the nurturing and dynamic atmosphere fostered at Ottawa Elementary.

Visions141 is more than a magazine; it's a window into the heart of our school community. It reflects the collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence that define Ottawa Elementary. Our focus remains steadfast on putting our #kidsfirst, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

As we move through the remainder of this winter season, I hope the stories in Visions141 leave you informed, inspired, and proud of the community we've built together. Here's to continuing our journey of growth, learning, and community engagement.

Warm Regards,

Dr. Michelle Lee
