Spring | 2026
Welcome to the Spring Issue of The Seneca Way
There is something distinctive about a place where learning doesn’t stay confined to a classroom, but instead comes to life through experience, responsibility, and connection.
As you turn the pages of this issue, you’ll see that idea reflected again and again.
You’ll find students running live broadcasts, troubleshooting problems in real time, and telling the story of their school to a wider audience. You’ll meet young people stepping into leadership—finding their voice, not because it is easy, but because it matters. Others are learning what it means to build something with their hands, whether through agriculture, skilled trades, or hands-on work that carries real responsibility and real consequence.
In classrooms across the district, students are not just learning about the future—they are actively preparing for it. Some are working alongside mentors, gaining experience in fields like education and the trades. Others are building confidence through life skills programs that emphasize independence, responsibility, and pride in meaningful work. These are experiences that extend far beyond graduation.
You’ll also see the power of belonging. Whether it’s a strength program that brings students together across sports, a football program built on leadership and character, or a school-wide celebration like Irish Fest that highlights talents beyond the scoreboard, there is a shared understanding that every student has a place here.
Equally important are the individuals who help make all of this possible.
Behind the scenes, there are dedicated professionals who keep this school running day in and day out—maintaining the facilities, mentoring students through real-world work, and ensuring that every space is ready for learning. In classrooms, educators challenge students to think critically, to speak up, and to understand their role in a larger world. And through opportunities like our student advisory committee, we continue to listen—because student voice is not just valued here, it helps shape who we are.
What ties all of these stories together is a shared belief in what we call The Seneca Way—a commitment to hard work, connection, and pride in doing things the right way.
To our families, staff, and community members, thank you for the role you play in making this possible. Your support creates the foundation for every opportunity reflected in these pages.
As you read this issue of The Seneca Way, I hope you feel a sense of pride—not only in what our students are doing, but in the community that stands behind them.
With appreciation,
Dan Stecken
Superintendent
Seneca High School
