Welcome to The Seneca Way

Dear Seneca High School Community,

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the inaugural issue of The Seneca Way. This publication is more than just a magazine—it is a reflection of the spirit, resilience, and excellence that define our school and our community.

At Seneca High School, we take immense pride in the traditions we uphold and the people who make this place extraordinary. This inaugural issue shines a light on several of those who embody The Seneca Way—from the student-athletes who break records while embracing teamwork, to the educators whose commitment to learning extends far beyond the classroom.

In these pages, you’ll meet students and alumni who are pushing themselves in ways that reflect the heart of The Seneca Way. Addie Olson’s academic journey demonstrates the strength of our dual-credit programming, opening doors for students to get a head start on their futures. Jill Rockrohr and Sam Leake’s partnership with Lucky, our beloved therapy dog, showcases the kind of care and connection that makes our school culture so unique. In our industrial tech program, students like Casey Klicker, Payton McDonald, and Jacob Hasselbring are gaining real-world experience that will serve them long after graduation. And you’ll learn more about Paxton Giertz, a remarkable athlete whose leadership and dedication have left an indelible mark on our basketball program.

Our educators are equally inspiring. Teachers like JR Welsh, Blake Slutz, Nick Kirkton, Jenna Maierhofer, and Bryan Erickson bring passion and purpose to the classroom, ensuring that students are not just learning facts, but developing the critical thinking and leadership skills that will carry them forward. Meanwhile, Ted O’Boyle continues to cultivate an athletic program that values character as much as competition, while School Resource Officer Ken Sangston keeps our students and staff safe.

Seneca High School has always been a place where students are encouraged to dream big, work hard, and support one another. Whether it’s on the court, in the classroom, in our workshops, or on a community service project, our students are constantly showing what it means to live The Seneca Way.

This magazine belongs to all of us—a way to share and celebrate the people who make Seneca High School so special. I encourage you to embrace your Irish Pride and see your reflection in these stories, just as we share Irish Pride in each other. Thank you for your continued support of our students, our staff, and our traditions.

Go Irish!
