Welcome to the Inaugural Issue of Spirit of CHS

Dear Centralia High School Community,

It is with great excitement and pride that I welcome you to the very first issue of Spirit of CHS, Centralia High School’s official quarterly magazine. This publication is a reflection of who we are as a school and as a community—celebrating the stories, achievements, and traditions that make Centralia High School such a special place.

In this inaugural issue, we have the pleasure of sharing a dozen stories that highlight the heart and spirit of our school. We take a closer look, for example, at what the Student Council really is, giving you a behind-the-scenes view of the leadership and dedication that goes into representing the student body. You’ll hear from ‘Chuck the Trainer,’ whose commitment to our students and athletes has been a hallmark for years, and gain insights about how we’ve overcome a unique set of transportation challenges from the District’s Director of Transportation, a role that is essential to keeping our students safe and our district on the roll.

Beyond these stories, we showcase a few remarkable students who are working hard to achieve their personal bests, demonstrating the resilience and determination that are hallmarks of our school community. And, for those who are fans of Centralia’s rich history, we explore the fascinating story behind the stained glass from Trout Arena—a symbol of our school’s enduring legacy.

Spirit of CHS is more than just a magazine; it’s a celebration of our growth, our challenges, and the many accomplishments we achieve together. As we continue to move forward, we remain committed to sharing the stories that inspire and unite us as a school and as a community.

Thank you for being a part of the Centralia High School family and for your ongoing support of our students and staff. We have so much to be proud of, and I am thrilled to share these stories with you. Together, we will continue to build on the strengths of our district and showcase the incredible work happening here at CHS.

Sincerely,

Dr. Chuck Lane
Superintendent, Centralia High School District
