A Letter From the Superintendent

For nearly four years, it has been my honor and privilege to work alongside some of the most talented and deeply committed professional educators of my career. What these teachers, coaches, administrators and specialists do for our kids every day is nothing short of amazing. I’ve watched members of the Meridian Faculty Team stay well after any kind of normal work day to give comfort to students in crisis. I’ve seen others begin their work day early and stay late to help struggling students. I’ve seen our entire team coalesce around a set of values through our Professional Learning Community that underwrites an impressive level of educational engagement. And I’ve seen mind-blowing resilience and empathy from both our team and our student body during what will arguably go down as one of America’s greatest health crises of our time — the COVID 19 Pandemic.

I’m proud to be a Meridian Bobcat. And I’m proud of those in our community who share the colors and the commitment to excellence behind them. We’re accomplishing great things every day in our school, but aren’t going to sit contentedly on our laurels; we’re going to continue to climb and grow and expand the possibility of our thinking to even higher levels as we meet every challenge and exploit every possibility that continues to come our way.

This issue is about possibilities and about the inherent richness of capability within each of us. If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look at the 5-minute video we recently produced on the Meridian Story. It’s an excellent reflection on Bobcat Nation and, if you’re anything like me, I’m sure it’ll make you Bobcat proud. Scan the QR code to take a look.
