A Welcome to the Fall 2024 Issue of Vandalia ONE

Dear Vandalia Community,

As we step into this new season, I am honored to welcome you to the Fall, 2024 issue of Vandalia ONE. This issue is especially meaningful, as it is dedicated to the men and women who have served in the military—individuals who have given so much to protect our freedom and uphold the values we hold dear. They are not only heroes to our country but also to our community, and today we proudly recognize their sacrifices.

Within these pages, we pay tribute to those who have worn the uniform and, through their service, worked to ensure a better tomorrow for all of us. We highlight stories of bravery, dedication, and service—qualities that reflect the very best of us, both as Americans and as Vandals.

In this issue, you’ll also meet two remarkable young individuals: one who has already enlisted and another who is preparing to follow in their footsteps. These students represent the future of our community, embodying the same spirit of service and sacrifice that their predecessors demonstrated.

Additionally, we share the stories of several of our younger students who are the children of veterans. Their stories remind us that military service touches not just the individuals in uniform but their families as well, whose support is critical to the strength of our armed forces.

This issue is a tribute to the past, the present, and the future of service within our community. It is a reflection of the pride we feel for all who serve and a reminder of the values we share.

Thank you for being part of this remarkable community and for joining us in honoring those who have given so much.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jennifer Garrison
Superintendent, Vandalia CUSD 203
