Welcome to the Spring Issue of The Point

At Unity Point, learning begins with something simple—but powerful: showing up for one another.

As you read through this issue of The Point, you’ll see that idea woven through every story. It lives in the educators, staff, and community members who bring care, consistency, and purpose to their work each day. It lives in the students who are discovering their strengths, exploring their interests, and growing into who they are meant to become.

You’ll meet individuals whose lives are rooted in service—people who step forward when others need them most and who understand that even the smallest moments of care can have a lasting impact. Their stories remind us that a strong school community is built not only through programs and instruction, but through relationships grounded in trust and compassion.

You’ll also see students learning in ways that extend far beyond the traditional classroom. From early childhood classrooms where curiosity leads the way, to middle school experiences that build confidence and prepare students for new opportunities, our students are learning how to think, how to collaborate, and how to persevere. Whether they are solving complex problems, leading behind the scenes, competing as a team, or simply choosing kindness in everyday moments, they are developing skills that will serve them well into the future.

A strong sense of belonging runs throughout these stories. At Unity Point, we believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. That belief is reflected in classrooms where students are encouraged to take risks, in supports that meet individual needs, and in traditions that honor the unique voice of each class. Success here is not defined by a single measure, but by the whole child.

You’ll also notice the power of teamwork—students supporting one another, educators collaborating to meet the needs of every learner, and a community that stands behind its school. Together, these efforts create an environment where students are not only prepared for the next step, but are confident in taking it.

That is what makes Unity Point special.

To our families, staff, and community members, thank you for the many ways you help create this environment each day. Your support ensures that our students have the opportunities, encouragement, and sense of belonging they need to thrive.

I hope this issue leaves you with a deep sense of pride in our school and in the people who make it such a remarkable place to learn and grow.

With gratitude,
Dr. Yaa Appiah-McNulty
Superintendent
