Welcome Letter From the Superintendent
There is something special about a place like Trico.
For those who have spent time here—whether for a few years or a lifetime—it becomes more than a school. It becomes a shared experience, a common thread, and, in many ways, a lifelong connection that continues long after graduation.
This Spring issue of The Pioneer gives us a chance to celebrate that connection in a unique way. As an Alumni issue, it highlights the journeys of individuals who once walked these same hallways and sat in these same classrooms, and who have gone on to build lives that are both remarkable and deeply rooted in where they began.
As you read these stories, you will see that there is no single path that defines a Trico graduate. Some have taken their talents into the trades, building careers through hard work, humility, and a willingness to learn. Others have pursued higher education and gone on to lead in fields as diverse as medicine, science, business, and public service. Some have served our country, worked across the world, or reached heights few might have imagined.
And yet, despite the differences in their paths, there is something unmistakably consistent in their stories.
You will find a deep appreciation for the people who helped guide them—teachers, coaches, mentors, and classmates who saw potential and encouraged it. You will see the value of relationships that were formed here and have lasted for decades. You will hear, again and again, how the lessons learned at Trico—about work ethic, responsibility, and community—have carried forward into every chapter of their lives.
Perhaps most importantly, you will notice how often these individuals remain connected to this place. Some have returned home. Others have stayed involved from afar. Many are now raising families of their own, sending their children through the same schools, or giving back in ways both visible and quiet. That kind of connection does not happen by accident. It is built over time, through shared experiences and a community that truly looks out for one another.
That is what makes Trico special.
To our alumni, thank you for the example you set and for the pride you bring to this district. To our families and community members, thank you for the continued support that makes stories like these possible.
Together, we are not just telling the story of a school—we are telling the story of a community that stays connected, no matter where life leads.
With gratitude,
Larry Lovel
