Welcome Letter From the Superintendent - Winter '23

Our Momence School Community has so much to be proud of. We’ve got hard working kids, talented staff members, a committed group of community volunteers, and supportive parents. We’ve also got the good fortune of strong postsecondary pathways and regional career and technical education (CTE) partnerships. All of this paves a better way forward for our young people and creates an incredible range of opportunities for them to explore. I am immensely proud to be working on behalf of these kids and alongside these professional educators and dedicated staff members. In many ways, our school has long been the center of our community, and I believe that, not only Momence, but our entire region is better for it.

Despite the challenges we all navigated over the last several years, we have emerged as a school community facing forward, and moving positively into our collective future together. We are helping our students make the most of every opportunity, encouraging them to share a common pride in our school, and watching them make new memories worth keeping.

If I know anything, I know that the time our kids spend in Momence Schools is fleeting but that the stories they write here  as they pass this way are remarkable. We’re going to be capturing some of those stories and sharing them with you in this new quarterly magazine, funded by a special community partnership grant at no cost whatsoever to our local taxpayers.

As we move forward together as a community, I invite you to follow our story. If you’d like to learn more about what we’re doing in your schools, or if you’d like to join us in a volunteer or mentoring role, please feel free to reach out.

I’m excited to share the Momence story with our entire community, and I have every intention of sharing it at full volume.
